Old Friends, Bad Habits

Fast food and I have been friends a long time. We go way back. We've gotten especially close since I started college in fall of 2007. Going out of state for college is an experience I think every one should have, but the down side is not getting home cooked meals. I don't like the food served in the caf on campus. In my opinion, it's not tasty or healthy, and I reasoned that if I'm going to eat something unhealthy, it should at least taste good. I don't feel I should have to punish myself daily in an area as important to life as food. So, since I've lived in the dorms I have eaten more fast food then ever, and my wallet and pant size have definitely suffered. I've realized that a QSR is not the friend saving me from bad meals, it's the leech friend that always needs to borrow money, even though you know you'll never see it again.

I'm not dieting, nor am I blaming the fast food industry for my expanded waist. I am simply separating myself from bad habits-and this is probably the biggest. And maybe-just maybe- my pants and wallet will show their appreciation.

I don't know if this has been done before. I'm not trying to be the first, nor am I trying to duplicate another's experience. This blog is a way to help me stay focused and committed to the challenge. If anyone else is out there reading this, enjoy...but this one is for me.

Less then 2 1/2 hrs til New Years....and to be completely honest. I'm gonna get a last piece of pizza.
